Thank you for visiting our website! The Liberty church of Christ invites you to worship with us at your earliest convenience. Visiting somewhere you have never been can be a little apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. We want you to be as comfortable as possible when you visit us.
To help you be a little more familiar with us, we would like to share with you some information about the congregation of Christians that meets here in the Liberty community near DeFuniak Springs, Florida. We strive to be the church that you read about in the New Testament. We follow the Bible to show us what the church was in the book of Acts, when it was first established, and how we are to become Christians, added by Jesus to His church.
We strive to be only Christians, nothing more and nothing less (Acts 26:28; Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16). We strive to follow the Scriptures for our guidance and authority in all matters pertaining to our worship and daily living. We believe the Bible is the all inspired Word of God, and needs no addition or revision by us (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Jude 3). We are to “speak as the oracles of God” (1 Peter 4:11).
The Liberty church of Christ is patterned after the first century church we read about in the New Testament. We worship God in both spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We exist to love God and His Word and to bring people to Jesus Christ using the truth, which is the Gospel (Matthew 28:18-20). We are focused on helping each other grow stronger in Christ, so that we face the temptations and trials that may come our way.
